I disagree with your point reg. Google shareholders. Given the facts about Google and the market it is operating in, all of them must be knowing already they are just betting on the possibility that Google will find more revenue streams.

Srinivasn:"they are just betting on the possibility that Google will find more revenue streams." -- will not do. Stakeholders and investors are not at the poker table to bet. What they are seeking is a clear discloure that, yes the ad revenue is at its cap ands therefore, the alternative revenue streams being produced and pursues will be x,y,z type of statements.

Google is half baked-soon to sit and fight the doj case. Capital funds in approx 1.2b in cash does not mean a thing !! The msft vs doj costed them approx 530m , given an investors sentiment half the booty is conservativly tied down - so the remaing half is for new initatives - oh yes no revenue generating models. Which we are really not seeing. Gpay and gbase appears to be the only thing that may make them money. How much as a percwntage eh ?? Henery has those anlaysis earlier ( I think that would approx 130m) additional only !! Now take the level of human capital investment (a couple of 100's of phd) thta revenue growth will not even pay their salaries !!

So, what's the point - short sweet -chapter11 (as part of the future proofing process!!

Peter: My statement was more out of frustration, why does the market think google is a world changing company? look at barry dillers company. why cant the market treat both the same?

But you are absolutely right. the market needs information.
