Budget laptops like the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-363A are suitable for workplaces and colleges. It strikes a nice balance between size, power, and cost, although it could have more storage. There’s a good chance that you recognize this model of the Acer Aspire 5 since the AMD version is one of their more popular models on Amazon.
Design and Display
It feels thin and lightweight, just like the rest of Acer’s Aspire 5 line, and this Core i3 model matches that description perfectly. However, despite its thinness and lightweight, the Aspire A515-56-363A is amazingly light for a laptop with a 14.3 x 9.9 inches footprint. With its elegant design and chic aluminum lid, the laptop is stylish. With the lid open, we see a 15.6-inch screen, thin bezels on both sides, a silver-colored chassis offset by a black keyboard, along with an Aspire logo on the hinge.
This Aspire 5 features a 15.6-inch display with an effective brightness of 267 nits and Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution for everyday use. The screen isn’t as bright as the ones found in more expensive laptops (about 300 nits), but for a budget laptop such as this, anything above 250 nits is more than sufficient. Surprisingly, the Core i5-equipped Aspire 5 has a considerably darker screen even though it costs about $200 more. Additionally, you’ll find that the display’s resolution of 1080p is superb, making it an excellent choice for a screen of this size.
Keyboard & Touchpad
In addition to the large backlit keyboard, it features a 10-key numeric keypad. Typing on the individual keys is enjoyable, with good feedback for each keystroke. Although key travel on this laptop is shallow, it is comparable to that of other laptops aimed at productivity. However, it is still true that for an inexpensive system, typing comfort and backlighting are vital features.
There is a large trackpad alongside the keyboard, and it is also smooth and responsive, so you don’t get accidental swipes while typing. However, while the higher-end Aspire 5 has a fingerprint reader integrated into the trackpad, the Aspire 5 lower-end model does not.
As a laptop, it offers an 11th-generation Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB solid-state storage, and it’s not the most powerful laptop you can buy. However, it works well when it comes to basic productivity tasks. The 15.6-inch screen is big enough to display all your daily emails, YouTube videos, documents, and school work. An excellent bargain office laptop and college machine at no extra cost, the Aspire 5 straddles the gap between the two.
Despite its integrated GPU, you can still run casual games such as Minecraft and do basic media creation and editing. However, if you are running modern games and media creation at medium levels, You will delay anything beyond casual.
Despite the Aspire 5’s battery being rated for 8 hours, it is actually a 48Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery. As a result, the laptop lasts 6 hours 53 minutes when continuously browsing the web over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness, which isn’t bad for a budget laptop.
