There is a lot to like about this convertible, including the good build quality, the 10th generation Core i7 processor, and the excellent amount of storage. You may also be interested in the Acer Active Stylus with AES 1 support. This laptop allows you to explore your creative side as well.
Design and display
Sleek silver bezels surround the housing and the lid, which give it a brushed metal look. This laptop weighs 2.6 pounds and measures 11.8 by 9.2 x 0.6 inches. You can easily carry this in your bag. In addition to being sturdy and reliable, hinges need to be smooth. You can quickly and easily adjust the screen’s orientation and rotate it from tent mode to standard laptop mode with the Spin 5. When you type on the keyboard, there is very little bouncing or movement.
A multitouch display measures 13.5 inches in size on the newer Spin 5 model, with a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels. Despite the bezels, the IPS panel has good color saturation and brightness. However, the overall image quality is overall good and doesn’t lack clarity. We only have one complaint about the overall design of the screen: the bezels surrounding it are too large.
Acer Spin 5 is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor running at 1.3GHz, along with 16GB of memory, 512GB of SSD storage, as well as Intel HD Graphics 620 to maximize its performance. As a result, it provides enough room to store your documents without requiring an external drive, as well as being a speedy storage option. The Intel Iris Plus Graphics found here does not hit the 30 FPS mark we consider acceptable for gaming, which is typical for laptops in this category.
Keyboard & Touchpad
This is actually a pretty good keyboard, with a travel of 1.7 millimeters, that’s deep. An ultra-thin laptop’s individual keys have a good amount of travel and produce a quiet but satisfying sound. You’d typically reach 104 words per minute on a mechanical keyboard, whereas you can type almost 96 words per minute with a touch screen.
Trackpads on Acer’s laptops are large enough to scroll around comfortably, and their edges are clearly defined, so you know when there is no more room. Despite not being covered in glass, the touchpad is still incredibly responsive and feels great, and it has adjustable sensitivity settings to give you a personalized experience.
According to Acer, the new Spin 5’s battery can last for up to 10 hours on a single charge. During the battery life test run, you will notice that the Acer SP513-54N-74V2 shuts down after 7 hours 24 minutes. This 2-in-1 laptop has run for 12 hours and 19 minutes playing a movie on loop with the screen brightness at 50% and all radios off except Wi-Fi. Having that kind of battery life is enough to keep you going on a long flight and watch a movie for a while doing some work.
On the Acer SP513-54N-74V2, there’s plenty of ports, including two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the right, two USB 3.0 ports on the left, an SD card reader, headphone jack, and a USB 3.0 port on the left.
