Finally, dell has come up with its latest G15 5511 series with more powerful specifications and great improvement in design. So, we are going to do a quick analysis of how it is actually gonna perform in real-world usage. So, without any further delay, let’s get started with our quick review of the Dell G15 5511 RTX3050 Ti variant, which arrives with the latest 11th series processor.
Starting with its processing power, the laptop is loaded with a brand new Intel Core i7-11800H processor, which packs an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of up to 4.6 GHz. However, normally, it runs between 1.9GHz to 2.6GHz variable clock speed, but it is capitalizing its maximum power when you are running power-intensive tasks, such as gaming or 3D rendering. Overall, the processing is potent and built on a highly power-efficient 7nm processing node. The low power consumption really helps it to remain cool most of the time. But you might feel some heating issues while continues gaming, which is a normal thing for any gaming laptop.
Apart from processors, a dedicated GPU is essential for any gaming laptop. So, it comes with the latest RTX 30 series 3050Ti graphics card with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM. However, it is not a very powerful GPU in the list, but you can run most of the games at low to medium settings. But you should need to go picking its higher variant with RTX 3060 if you are a professional gamer. Other than that, you can run productivity apps that require decent graphics power without any problem.
Display & Build
The Dell G15 5511 laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with an anti-glare coating to avoid unwanted reflactions. Unlike the glossy display, this panel is way more protected against reflective visuals. Therefore, you shouldn’t be any problem using it against the light. But brightness is only 250-nights, making it a questionable panel to use in outdoor visibility, especially in direct sunlight. The more important part for gamers is the refresh rate, where it gets good points. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which is decent enough for any gaming laptop.
The laptop is mostly made of plastic material in terms of build quality, but the Aluminium usage around its frames gives it a premium feel. Its body is very well constructed, and it weighs just less than 6 lbs. Being a gaming laptop, we can’t say that it is too heavy, but not light either. Overall, the build quality is just average. There is nothing special about it except the front appearance, which slightly gives it a unique identity.
I/O ports & Connectivity
The good thing about this laptop is that it doesn’t compromise with I/O ports. There are all the necessary ports available on this device. Starting from the left, there are two USB 2.0 Type-A ports; one of them supports power to share. On the right side, there is nothing special; Only the ethernet port & power in the port is there, also a charging indicator. Most of the remaining ports are set at the rear. There you get a faster USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C port, faster USB 3.2 Type-A, HDMI port, and a headphone jack. Other than that, the laptop supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 to enhance the connectivity.
The battery life of this laptop is acceptable but not extraordinary. This machine arrives with a bigger 6-cell 86-Whrs battery that can provide nearly 7 hours battery life, which can be considered above average for a gaming laptop. If I am not wrong, this is the biggest battery found on this series. So, the company has tried to improve its features in many ways.
