There are many excellent features to the Dell G3 15, including a massive look and outstanding performance. However, with similar specifications and the same price, the Dell G3 was more costly than competing gaming laptops from other brands. There are several reasons for this, including Dell’s market value and the fact that they provide more convenient after-sales support, which many people consider important.
Design and Display
It is a very simple laptop in terms of its basic design. You may have noticed that many of Dell’s gaming laptops look similar if you’ve seen their laptops before. There is a blue band running down the sides with narrow bezels. This laptop has a very premium look to it.
Eclipse black cover provides a sleek and lightweight laptop. With a 15.6-inch Full HD display and anti-glare coating, the Dell G3 15 is a great laptop. from a refreshing perspective, it has a 144Hz refresh rate with a 300-nits brightness. If you work outdoors or at your desk close to a window, considering the price difference between the two models, you are better off opting for the higher brightness model.
You can choose from an Intel Core i5-10300H or a Core i7-10750H CPU/GPU configuration, depending on your needs. In terms of CPUs, the i5 chip is quad-core, and the i7 is a Hexa-core CPU. You have an Nvidia 1650 Ti graphics card with 4GB of memory. The Dell G3 is predicted to be good in this area, and it certainly is. When you’re not planning on gaming on the G3 but are interested in using it to edit videos, you can edit videos in full resolution in Premiere Pro using the Dell G3.
Keyboard and touchpad
With the Dell G3, you can type for long periods of time on the full-size keyboard, which has a numeric keypad, or play games with well-traveled keys. In addition, the keyboard’s blue backlight allows you to use it in the dark, which makes it look like a real gamer keyboard. If Dell had given you an RGB array, you could have customized the color, but instead, you get blue.
Despite the G3’s nice trackpad, the clicking mechanism is not reassuring when you swipe or scroll. A mouse should be attached to the machine if you are planning on gaming.
While the Dell G3 battery will last approximately four hours of normal use if you are gaming, using the wall adapter will give you the best performance because the battery drains quickly. In addition, the internals performs best when powered by the AC adapter. With the barrel-connected charger, it takes just over two hours for the laptop to be charged ultimately.
The left side of the device has the power plug, an HDMI 2.0 jack, a USB Type-A 3.1 port, an RJ-45 jack, and a USB Type-C 3.1 port supporting DisplayPort. A USB Type-A 2.0 port, an audio jack, and an SSD card reader can be found on the right.
