With its sleek design and solid performance, the HP Pavilion 15-eg0021nr is an affordable, portable workstation that can go head to head with the MacBook Pro for creative work. There aren’t many portable computers as powerful and convenient as the HP Pavilion 15-eg0021nr for office workers who need a mobile workstation.
Design and Display
The HP Pavilion 15 is quite appealing from a design perspective. This PC features an elegant yet simplistic design that has captivated us ever since we first saw it. We’ve experienced its quality build whenever we try to appease a professional-grade user. In addition, it is quite portable as it weighs less than 4 pounds and measures less than 0.7 inches, so it is lightweight and easy to carry.
However, it has a large profile and can’t be used as a portable laptop. There is a full-size keyboard and a 15.6-inch display with thin bezels on the laptop, which measures 14.18 x 9.21 x 0.70 inches, and weighs 3.86 pounds. The thinness of its side bezels and IPS technology further enhance the immersive experience with 178-degree viewing angles.
The Intel Core i7-1165G7 is an 11th Generation processor. In terms of laptop processors, this is one of the best you can find for consumers that still care about battery life. There are four cores and 12MB of cache on this system, and it can reach speeds up to 4.7GHz.
This processor is paired with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200 MHz for the highest bandwidth, enabling it to handle even the most intensive multitasking workloads. With 512 GB of SSD storage, HP has seemingly gone all-in. A computer with an SSD can perform up to 15 times faster than a computer with a mechanical hard drive. It is impossible to go back once you own an SSD laptop.
keyboard and touchpad
It features a good keyboard which makes typing easy. Although they have nice key travel, they feel more comfortable than most laptops in this price range. Even in the dark of the night, you can work comfortably. You would find it easier to use the trackpad once you adjust the sensitivity level up in settings.
The right side of the device offers a USB Type-C port (which supports Type-C displays), a USB 2.0 Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a microSD slot. You will find both the charging port and a USB 2.0 Type-A on the left side. The Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity options provide wireless connectivity.
Generally speaking, HP Pavilion 15 has good battery life – about 6 hours 32 minutes off the mains is very good, with a maximum brightness of 150 nits. In my experience, HP claims that it can last over 8 hours. But, of course, the figure is only reasonable if you’re not doing much work on the laptop.
